Terms of Service

By accessing or using the services provided at echoo.ai ("Service") or downloading the Echoo application ("Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

Echoo is a macOS productivity application designed to enhance workflow efficiency through AI-powered text transformation, voice dictation (local speech-to-text), and optional screen context features. The app runs on your device, while AI requests may be sent to the provider used for the selected mode. Echoo offers two modes: Pro Mode, where Echoo manages AI access and meters your usage, and Free Mode, where you connect your own AI provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) using API keys that you provide.

An echoo.ai account may be required for account-based features, including Pro Mode. Account authentication is processed by our authentication provider, Supabase. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Pro Mode is a paid, metered subscription that uses Echoo-managed OpenAI access. Two plans are available:

• Pro: $6.99 USD per month, 400 tokens per billing cycle.
• Max: $9.99 USD per month, 800 tokens per billing cycle.

By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly billing until you cancel. Subscriptions auto-renew each billing cycle until cancelled. You can cancel anytime in the app; cancellation stops the next renewal and your current period remains active until it ends.

A token is one successful Pro Mode AI command execution (a rewrite, a translation, a summary, or a cleanup). Pro Mode uses the model identified in the app or checkout flow. Each command is limited to 2,500 tokens of input and 2,500 tokens of output; commands that exceed the input limit may be truncated or rejected without counting against your quota, and responses are capped at the output limit. Unused tokens do not roll over. When your monthly quota is reached, managed tokens pause until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade. Free Mode usage uses your own provider key; Echoo does not provide managed tokens for Free Mode, and your chosen provider may apply its own limits, pricing, and terms.

New accounts also receive 10 introductory tokens at no charge and without a payment method. Each introductory token is equivalent to one command execution. This introductory allowance is granted once per user/account, does not expire on a schedule, is consumed permanently as you use it, and is subject to the same per-command input and output limits described above. It does not renew and is not part of a paid subscription. We may modify or discontinue the introductory offer at any time.

Billing, payment processing, and tax for Pro Mode subscriptions are handled by Paddle, which is the Merchant of Record for your purchase. Paddle handles VAT, GST, and sales tax based on your region. Your payment details are processed by Paddle under its terms; Echoo does not receive or store your full card details.

Prices are listed in USD and may be displayed in your local currency at checkout. We may change pricing with reasonable advance notice; any change takes effect at your next renewal after notice.

In Pro Mode, Echoo uses managed OpenAI access under Echoo's OpenAI project and sends processed text to OpenAI to fulfill your command. Each Pro Mode request is limited to 2,500 tokens of input and 2,500 tokens of output. Your use is also subject to OpenAI's terms of service. In Free Mode, your text is sent to the AI provider you configure. See our Privacy Policy for the full data routing details.

Your privacy is our top priority. We commit to the following:

• Your content is yours: Text you process with Echoo is sent to your chosen AI provider (Free Mode) or to OpenAI under Echoo's managed project (Pro Mode). We do not store your processed text content.
• Secure key handling: Your own API keys in Free Mode are stored on your device in Apple Keychain. Pro Mode credentials are managed by Echoo for your account and usage metering.
• Limited analytics: We collect limited usage metrics to improve the Service. See our Privacy Policy for the complete list.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys and account credentials, and for all activities that occur using your installation of the Software.

Echoo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for personal or internal business purposes. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software.
• Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Sell, resell, or sublicense the Software without explicit permission.
• Abuse, circumvent, or attempt to bypass the Pro Mode request metering, including creating multiple accounts to obtain additional introductory tokens.

The Service connects to third-party AI providers. Due to the probabilistic nature of AI, output may not always be accurate. You are responsible for evaluating the accuracy and appropriateness of any AI-generated content before using or relying on it. Your use of AI providers is also subject to their respective terms of service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users of the Service, us, or third parties, or for any other reason. Upon termination, your Pro Mode subscription ends and no further renewals are charged, except where required by law.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ECHOO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
