Pricing questions
What counts as one credit?
One credit is used after one successful managed AI command: a rewrite, a translation, a summary, or a cleanup. Failed commands and BYOK usage do not count against your credit allowance.
Do I need an API key?
No for the first 10 credits or any paid Pro Mode plan. Echoo ships with a managed key, so you can rewrite, translate, and summarize without API setup. Free Mode also lets you bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or local key.
What is Memory, and does it work on the Free plan?
Memory is a per-command switch on Pro and Max. With it on, a command remembers your earlier requests and its own earlier results, and learns from them: the names and terms you use, your tone, how long your sentences run, how much detail you keep. Each result needs a little less fixing than the last, and a company name like Arkency stops being "corrected" out of your writing. It is not available on Free, because it runs on the managed key rather than your own. You pick which commands use it, and you can reset one at any time.
What exactly am I paying for?
Pro and Max are software subscriptions for a macOS productivity application with managed AI text workflows. Echoo does not sell user-created media, broker creator listings, or collect voluntary contributions.
Can I switch from Pro to Max mid-cycle?
Not mid-cycle. To move from Pro to Max, cancel Pro (it stays active until the end of your current period), then subscribe to Max once Pro ends. If you need more credits before then, top up your current plan instead of switching.
What happens when I hit my limit?
Managed credits pause until your allowance resets on the next billing cycle. You can top up for more credits on your current plan, or keep working in Free (BYOK) mode with your own key at any time.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Your credit allowance resets each billing cycle. It is a monthly allowance, not a bank.
Can I still use my own API key?
Yes. Free mode is BYOK: every command, voice, skills, and 10+ providers. After the 10 included credits, you use your own provider key unless you upgrade, and that provider may charge or rate-limit usage.
How do I cancel?
Cancel anytime in the app. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Your current period stays active until it ends.
Is tax included in the price?
Paddle is the Merchant of Record and handles VAT, GST, and sales tax for your region. Tax is calculated at checkout based on your location.
