Use Echoo with OpenAI / ChatGPT

Connect Echoo to OpenAI GPT models for powerful AI text transformation on macOS. Use GPT-4, GPT-5, and more with keyboard shortcuts.

Setup Guide

  1. Get an OpenAI API key

    Visit platform.openai.com, create an account, and generate an API key.

  2. Open Echoo settings

    Click the Echoo icon in your menu bar and open Settings.

  3. Select OpenAI as provider

    Navigate to the AI Provider section and select OpenAI.

  4. Paste your API key

    Enter your API key. It's stored securely in Apple Keychain.

  5. Choose a model

    Select GPT-5.2 for best quality, GPT-5 Mini for speed, or GPT-4.1 Nano for low-cost tasks.
